Yesterday was the big day! We headed to the doctor to get our 20 week ultrasound and hopefully find out what this baby is! We were both very excited.





The appointment went well and the baby is healthy and strong.

I asked Andrew to write a poem for the big announcement:

Time to find out which the peanut is, a girl or a boy,

Should it be a barbie or a bat for the first toy.

Polo shirts or little pink skirts?

Jock to be, or a princess flirt?

So we went to the doc, for an ultrasound.

With the gel on the belly, the answer we found.

Let's all hope he looks just like me,

Cause this baby is definitely a he.

It's a boy! Looks like 85% of you were wrong!

Happy Mother's Day to me!

Andrew has been working a lot of hours lately and it seems like we never see each other. So I told him that all I wanted to do for Mother's Day was to get away together. It wasn't easy but he made it happen! Andrew's co-worker said that I'm not a mother yet, but I disagree! I was excited for what I am going to think of as my very first Mother's Day.

We went down to Huntington Beach on Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the Hilton points that Andrew racked up while living in Tulsa, this is the amazing hotel that we were able to stay at, FOR FREE!!

And here was the view from our room. A-ma-zing!

We quickly checked in and walked across the street to the beach. It was a beautiful day, perfect for walking around.

We got chocolate dipped ice cream cones.

And hung out with this sea lion.

We walked along the pier.

And just enjoyed being together.

When we got back to our hotel room there were these beautiful flowers waiting for me.

Look at these beautiful gerber daisies. The colors are amazing!

The next morning we went to a delicious Mother's Day brunch.

This was just my first trip to the buffet!

Later that afternoon we drove to Newport Beach and decided to walk around the temple there. It is such a unique temple. It is beautiful.

We saw this rabbit enjoying the temple grounds.

We stopped at the pier and walked around there for awhile.

And ate a delicious frozen chocolate dipped banana.

It was then time to go home. We packed up our stuff and secured the flowers. It was good practice for putting the baby in the back seat. I think this will work.

We got home and realized we didn't really have anything to make for dinner. But Andrew didn't let them stop him from making me a delicious Mother's Day dinner. He rummaged through the freezer and found this

And yummy cupcake cookies for dessert.

Andrew is so great at making me feel special everyday, and he really made this a great Mother's Day for me.

Strollers and high chairs and car seats, OH MY!!

I have a lot of shopping to do. Normally I would be very excited to go shopping. But the problem with this shopping is that I have absolutely no idea what to buy! There are so many different baby products out there that I don't even know where to start. I don't know which things I need and what things I really do not need. So I need your help and advice! Tell me what products you suggest and what you have realized that you really can go without!

Right now I am trying to figure out strollers, car seats and diaper bags. Also, I already have a crib, but I don't know if I need something else for sleeping.

To try and become somewhat educated and get some ideas, I went to the LA baby expo a couple of weeks ago. My friend Brittany was so nice to go with me, even though she doesn't have any babies. (Andrew was very grateful!) I got a lot of great ideas, saw a lot of cute things, and realized that I know nothing about what babies need!

I saw these great diaper bags. http://www.babybeebags.com/ I love all the features that the bag has, but there isn't a print that I really love. So I'm not completely sold on it.

I also love these slings from http://www.modmum.com/ This print is adorable, and I definitely need a good baby carrier.

New tablecloth and pillows

I decided our new apartment could use some color.

So I made this tablecloth

And these pillows. (I realized afterwards that it might be a little bit too much to have matching pillows, but oh well.)
