Our Cruise

The last stop on our whirlwind vacation this summer was a cruise! I have always wanted to go on a cruise but have never been. It took some convincing because Andrew's last cruise that he went on ended with them in the lifeboats as their cruise ship was on fire. (that's another story though) But he was sweet enough to take me anyway. We decided that a short cruise down to Ensenada Mexico would be perfect. We had a lot of fun that weekend and we took a lot of pictures, so I tried to pick just a few to share the fun things we did, but I think I chose too many! Sorry!

Here is a picture of our cruise ship "Monarch of the Seas."

We played a game of bingo!
This was my sad face when we didn't win.
Andrew was sweet enough to take a couple different dancing classes with me. We took a beginners salsa, swing and country line dancing class. They were a lot of fun. I think swing was my favorite.
Here is a picture of our "formal night" on the cruise. Nobody else sat at our table the whole cruise, so it was nice to have dinner to ourselves.
I had heard so much about how great the food is on cruise ships, and it is true! Jessica gave me the best adv ice about how you can order as much food as you want at dinner, and we definitely put that to good use. I tried not to embarrass Andrew too much by taking pictures of all our food, but these were too pretty to pass up.
All of the desserts were amazing!
I loved being outside and watching the water. It did get a little windy sometimes though.
I really enjoyed all of the fun shows and entertainment they had each night.

They had a pool party one night and they had these really cool watermelon carvings.

We went rock climbing.
I had never been before and I was so scared! But I made it to the top.

They had a belly flop contest. I think this guy might have won.
We ate a lot of food! Especially late night pizza and cookies.

Hanging out at the pool ...
Each night our "state room attendant" would fold our towels into animal shapes. This one is a swan:
And here is a monkey:
I love this picture because it is one that I took while holding the camera myself and I could see Andrew making a face out of the corner of my eye and so I did the same thing and he was so surprised when he saw it. He thought he was being funny ... but I beat him at his own game! :) We had a great time. I have a lot of pictures from Mexico so I am going to save those for a separate post! The cruise was great. We would love to go again, but next time with more friends and family. Anyone interested?

I'm so glad you had a good time! We love cruises too! Wouldn't it be great to plan a big one with tons of people we know!? Maybe someday after Tim graduates...

Note taken; order as much food as you can at dinner on a cruise!

Thanks for the tip.

That monkey towel hanging from the ceiling is hysterical. Was it hanging like that when you came into your room or did you do that? Money-shaped towels are far and away enough reason for me to go on a cruise.

Cruises are possibly mankind's most evolved form of vacation. You essentially live like a king for a week. Complete with servants and all. I love 'em.
