11 month highlights:
*CRAWLING!! Yep, that's right, he is now crawling! One day he was rocking back and forth on his hands and knees, then suddenly he was taking 2 or 3 "steps" and then the next day he was flying across the room. He is all over the place and is so happy to be able to get around on his own!
*Pulling himself up. He is pulling himself up on everything. He loves to stand and to try to walk along the furniture. Because of the crawling and pulling himself up we have a lot of crashes, bumped heads, etc. I feel bad for him every time but I do love the extra snuggles I get when he does get hurt.
*Eating: He still eats a lot! He is still nursing 4 times a day plus eating 3 meals and snacking on cheerios all day long. He seems to love anything that we give him to eat but his favorites are cheerios, cheese, watermelon and avocado.
*Sleeping: We have been busy this past month and have been gone quite a bit so his sleeping schedule has definitely been off. For the most part he still takes 2 pretty good naps and is sleeping well through the night. He still wakes up earlier, around 6:30, but I have just realized that this is going to be our wake up time and I just need to deal with it!
*Talking: He loves to hear himself make noises. He is saying mama, baba, and one time he said dada. But none of it is directed at any of us or anything in particular. He makes the best elephant noises as he blows air out of his pursed lips. He also likes to stick his tongue out all of the time.
*Stranger anxiety: Unfortunately he has developed a little bit of stranger anxiety. He usually does okay as long as Andrew or myself is in the same room, but if we leave the room then he starts crying. This has also made naps more difficult as he starts crying as soon as I walk out of the room. It's nice to be loved and all, but this becomes really frustrating!
*He still loves to be outside. He also loves the water (except the ocean). He loves to play with anything he can put in a cup and shake. The first thing he does when he picks up something is to shake it. Then he will hit it against something else to make noise. He is pretty good at entertaining himself as long as I am in the room and he can see me. He is extremely busy and doesn't sit still for very long. I am resisting baby-proofing the apartment because it is just such a pain to have to put locks and everything on drawers. But he is getting in to everything and I know I am going to have to do something soon!
Only one more month and we have made it to a year!!

So cute and fun. It was great to see you guys this week! Gavin was so good the whole time, a total doll.
Gavin is an eating machine. Warms my heart.
I can't wait to meet Gavin. He looks so sweet and fun. He and Brooke would have a blast getting into everything.
