There seems to be a tree in our living room ...

We decided to get a Christmas tree this year!! Andrew pointed out that it was weird that I waited until the year that we have a toddler to actually get a real Christmas tree, but I think that it is the perfect year to get a tree because we knew Gavin would love it!

We went to Home Depot and found the perfect tree!

Andrew strapped it to the top of our car and we brought it home.

After putting Gavin to bed we got the tree inside and put up the lights.

I had a swim meet the next morning and I was sad that I wasn't going to be here to see Gavin's first reaction to seeing the tree in our apartment, so Andrew recorded it for me. You can tell that he is very confused at first. But then I love how he keeps "talking" to the tree. The video is a little long, but it's so cute!

Thanks for posting this. It's so much fun to watch him make discoveries.

He is so cute! I love his little voice and his cute little waddle/walk. What kind of car do you have? A mini? We don't want a tree until we have kids, so I am on your side. For now, lampshades will do :)

I love that it took him so long to actually touch the tree. He's so steady on his feet now! I agree that it's funny you got a tree now. Babies don't care and two-year-olds know better, but it's the one-year-old that loves pulling off the ornaments. We've got ours in our living room this year where we can close the french doors and keep Brooke out of it.
Yes, what kind of car are you driving now? Where's the black Mazda? Or did you sell the truck? Any luck finding a rental house?

I love Gavin's monkey jacket. I have one myself, so make sure you bring it and then Gavin and I can be twinners.

That video was adorable! I love how he was kind of like "What is this?" only it was all babble. He's a real sweety. Can't wait to see you guys at Christmas! :D
