This morning on the Today Show they talked about the new warnings that are coming out about the plastic used in some reusable water bottles. They warned not to use any recycle numbers 3, 6, or 7 (look at the bottom of your bottles). It has something to do with the plastic that is used and harmful effects that it may have. Not really knowing anything about it, but believing everything Matt Lauer tells me, I looked at all of our water bottles. I found that almost all of our bottles are #7. I am fine with throwing away these bottles, but Andrew is having a little bit more of a difficult time. When he got to work this morning he checked out his favorite orange nalgene bottle and was extremely dissapointed to find out that it too must go. He wrote a poem about his bottle and I thought it was hilarious and had to post it.
"Nalgene bottle in my favorite hue
I never thought I'd be poisoned by you
I bought you long ago at the sports store dicks,
now I find out, you might be making me sick
I took you on hikes, to quench my thirst
now I know why my stomach always hurt
I love you for the color of your shell
but some nerdy doctor told me you're making me unwell
so goodbye, I must throw you away
maybe number 7 plastic is why my hair is turning gray!"

I too am lamenting the demise of my faithful Nalgenes.
Andrew is good at writing funny poems, tell him he should write more:)
