New Orleans - D-Day Museum - Day 2

Day 2 of our New Orleans trip we went to the D-Day Museum. My dad went to the museum a few years ago and I have wanted to go ever since. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there and I could have easily stayed another 2 1/2 hours, or more. I always feel awkward taking pictures in museums, so I didn't take very many, but did take a few good ones.

Outside of the museum, the sidewalk is made of bricks with names of men and women who served in the war. Very cool.

Flag from Pearl Harbor:

Because Andrew served his mission in the Phillipines, he has learned a lot about how the war affected their country and specifically the Bataan March.

This flag hung from ceiling (3 stories high) to floor. Absolutely beautiful.

This flag was raised in the middle of the attacks at Pearl Harbor.

Although I didn't get a picture of an actual jeep, I took this picture in honor of my dad and his WWII Willys Jeep. It's actually a pretty cool story, if you read it.

What an amazing museum. It is definitely one that I will have to go back to, again and again. It is full of so much history and so many amazing stories. It truly makes me grateful for everyone who not only served in the war, but sacrificed at home to help with the war effort.
