Mom Day

So let's start with the basics/qualifications for Diane being a mom:
  1. Requirement 1: Gender - Check
  2. (Well, I think there's really only one other qualification) Requirement 2: Chubby Child -Check

Having an extra set of hands around to make meals would seem to be great, except this little blob is worthless in the kitchen. Despite his inability to do anything more than inhale food, I started the day off with this:

That, ladies and gents, is french toast with a homemade strawberry syrup. Which I made after letting her sleep in while I dealt with the small hippo that we call "son" (who by the way ate tons of food today. Nice work chubby.).
After Church we took a few photos:

These are photos of the little man wanting to look at Diane's pinwheel and not take photos with the mom. In the end, she lifted the little chunk over her head, and burned all the calories off that she ate at breakfast. But it did result in a great photo.

We ended with a little of this:

Envy is a normal feeling. Unless your husband is this man, you just didn't have quite the meal. Sorry.

The dessert was the one flaw in the day's meal. Diane asked for the chocolate cake with the gooey center. I trusted the "professionals", buying a pre-made item at Whole Foods. Here it is:

And here are my thoughts on the work done by the "professionals":
But that's okay. Happy mother's day to the wife Diane. Lil' G is a lucky guy. And happy Mother's day to my own mother, who I'm sure will read this in about 3-4 weeks. And Happy Mother's Day to Diane's mom too.

The mothers in my house asked for the classic dinner: steak, baked potato, salad--for mother's day. Still, yours looks quite good. I was up early making cinnamon french toast, bacon, and fruit, with a minor contribution from PJ.

Glad everyone enjoyed the day.

Well, the cake LOOKED yummy at least! My favorite Molten Chocolate Lava Cake is REALLY easy to make... even if it gets stuck and falls apart- it is delicious!
