Last week, Andrew and I met my parents in San Francisco for a fun weekend. It has taken me awhile to get the pictures on the computer, and hopefully I will get more of them posted soon. I thought I would start with the main reason we went to San Francisco ... to go to a Giants baseball game. Andrew is a huge Giants fan. I surprised him with a tour of AT&T Park the day of the game.
AT&T Park is a really beautiful park. It was a lot of fun and we got to see some really cool things. Andrew was able to sit in the press conference seat:
We were able to go right down onto the field. We couldn't step on the grass though because they were preparing it for the game that night:
I don't know how that guy got his leg up that high:
Willie Mays is one of the most famous Giants players:
Here we are at the game that night, all decked out like super fans. We even had a guy stop us and ask if he could take our pictures for the giants fan website, but Andrew told him no. (He thought they were trying to sell us a picture or something.)

I got to sit in this really cool glove chair. We also all got a free soda or hot chocolate because we were "designated drivers." But we did have to wear these nerdy wrist bands.
This is the Giants mascot, Lou Seal.
Probably the highlight of the night was when Fred Lewis hit a homerun. But it wasn't just any homerun, it was a "splash hit." The park is surrounded by the bay and so when a player hits a ball out into the water, it is a splash hit. This has only happened 46 times!! We were excited to be there when it happened.
I thought this player stood funny while he was batting:

And Andrew got to pick up the phone to call up the relief pitcher:
They had a lot of really cool quotes up on all of the walls. Even one of my favorite from a great movie:

Three of Andrew's favorite things: The Giants, Snoopy, and me!

I usually don't think baseball is that exciting of a game, but I have to admit that this was a very exciting game. The Giants lost, but it was 10 - 9. A very high score for baseball. They scored 4 runs in the last inning but it wasn't quite enough to save the game. I really enjoyed AT&T park, the baseball game, and the food (that will be another post).

Looks like so much fun!
Looks like you had a great time. Got me all nostalgic for all the times m¥ dad took us to baseball games when I was little.
I think it is funny that all four of you got "designated driver" bracelets. Somehow, I don't think that promotion would work so well in Utah! :) Looks like it was a fun trip! Makes me want to come play, too!!
