My vote is for an old school Mini Cooper or BMW 2004 3 series.
I voted for the Accord. I have fond memories of my Accord and know they last for-ev-er. Mine was nearly 17 years old before she exploded (literally).
I would have said "other" because I'm in love with my Subaru...but gas mileage being your primary motivator excludes that suggestion :(
P.S. You have to admit, Di, that Mini Coopers are adorable...
