Friends, Family, Tacos and Eggs

A couple of weeks ago we went to Utah the week before Easter. I went out on Monday morning and Andrew joined me on Friday. We had a fun week visiting family and friends.

On Monday night I met my friend Gail at Spaghetti Mamas. I was so excited to see her, and also very excited to eat their delicious breadsticks. (you can read about them here.) I was so dissapointed when I found out that they had changed their breadsticks. They were definitely not as good. Huge let down. I guess that's one less place I have to go eat when I visit Utah! Despite the breadsticks, it was great to see Gail and catch up with her.

Tuesday afternoon I drove back up to Salt Lake to see my friend Laney. She moved to Utah from Pasadena last year. It was great to see her and catch up on everything going on with her. She took me to a great place she had found, Pat's BBQ. The pulled pork sandwich was great! I also got the cole slaw, which was okay, a little too mustardy for me, but I could see the potential. It was a great place to go for lunch. We walked in at the same time as two guys, and they sat down next to us, so the waiter and servers all thought we were there together. We even tried to convince them to pay for us, but they didn't. Oh well.

I spent a lot of time hanging out with my sister-in-law Heather and her two cute kids Seth and Rachel. Heather was so great and let me have all of her old materinity clothes. They are super cute and will save me tons of money! Thanks Heather.
Seth has grown so much since the last time I saw him. I love that fuzzy hair. He is such a happy baby.
Rachel is talking a lot more and we had fun hanging out. She loved showing me her new toy (swingset), and her big girl bed. We made fruit loop bracelets. It was a little difficult to make it faster than she was eating it.

Thursday night was taco night at Grandmas. My parents remodeled their house the past few months and it looks great. They resurfaced the little table in the kitchen so that the grandkids would have a place to sit for dinner. This is where we always sat for dinners while I was growing up, so it was fun to see them there.

Even though Seth didn't eat any tacos, he still had fun.

We also decorated Easter eggs while all the grandkids were together. They had a fun time and made some great looking eggs.

Saturday night we were up in Salt Lake, celebrating Joe's birthday. Even though it was a few weeks late, he was more than willing to extend his birthday celebration for us. We went to dinner at his favorite place, Market Street Broiler. Instead of birthday cake, he had birthday oysters.

It was definitely a fun week. We are always running around everywhere and never get to see everyone that we want to, but it's always nice to get away and see family and friends.
