We got there late Friday night and basically went straight to our lodge. We woke up early the next morning to drive Andrew to the beginning of the race. Because it is a small town and they basically have one main road, they had to close that road to a one-way road for the race. That meant that whenever we went anywhere, we had to drive all the way around the lake. I think we drove all the way around the lake about 5 times. But at least we got to see the beautiful lake and saw the race course that Andrew would run on.
Some of the views:

Here is a picture of the course route.
Here is Andrew before the race began. (He was going to wear his BYU clothes, but didn't want to get them smelly from running in them)
We were able to find a good spot to wait for Andrew to run by.

Here he is at the finish. Go Andrew!!
"Look at my shiny medal!" He did such a great job. He finished in 2 hrs and 5 minutes! The course was really difficult, with a lot of hills and the altitude was also a big adjustment as well.
Me and my mom waiting for Andrew to finish.
After he runs he is pretty sweaty and smelly, so this is as close as I get to him.
I also decided to join in on the race. Look at me go!
After the race (and Andrew showered) we walked around the cute town of Big Bear. They have a lot of fun shops to wander around. There was this creepy robotic guy.
There was a great little ice cream shop. Look at how little this mini ice cream cone is.
I decided my ice cream was too small, so I had to take some of Andrew's.
It was a great weekend. I am so proud of Andrew and all of the time that he takes to stay in shape. He absolutely loves to run. I really am impressed with how dedicated he is to training. Way to go Andrew! (And thanks for giving us a reason to go on a mini-vacation!)

Fun! Matt and I did a Big Bear trip one day and I absolutely hated the drive up there, so I can feel your pain. I almost threw up.
What a beautiful place! I'm glad you had a fun time. How are you feeling? You make such a beautiful pregnant woman!
Go Andrew! We're impressed.
I know the windy drive well. My parents had a cabin up there with two other familes when I was little. The drive always made me car sick, but Big Bear is worth it once you get there. I haven't been there in a while, but the pictures show it to be as beautiful as I remember. I'll have to make a trek back sometime soon.
Way to go Andrew!!
