I love the Utes. They are the pre-eminent non-BCS team in the nation. But the big question is can they reload. It's a tall order. They need to replace Paul Kruger, Sean Smith and Brice McCain on D. Why? Cause they all play in the NFL. And by play I mean either start or play a lot. Not bad.
How do you replace that? Well...
Urban Meyer convinced Kruger to join the Utes. He didn't just get a commitment out of Paul, but the whole family. Good thing it's a family of like 4 brothers who are all 250 pounds, 6-6 and unreal fast. Bless you Mr. and Mrs. Kruger. I nominate you for the Utah hall of fame. You have made my life just that much better.
Sly Stevenson will do awesome things (such as below where I think he killed that UCLA QB, seriously, he died after that hit...on the inside, like his pride. But seriously, I bet he's a top 5 LB national and gets nominated for awards, like Butkus). We have a great secondary with fast big people. And we have Koa Misi, who sounds like he's a Japanese soup dish, but really is just awesome.
On Offense we have to replace Brian Johnson. I do want to name my child Brian Johnson. And I'm not kidding. If my wife would let me, I would totally do it. Would I regret it in 10 years? Heck no. Would I be sorely disappointed when my child chose to play basketball, realized he's white and studied chemistry or something and didn't lead the Utes to a Sugar Bowl victory? Yes. So maybe it's best to not put that kind of pressure on him. But really, he should try and do that all anyways. Chemistry is for nerds. We have Terrance Cain.
He was the JUCO player of the year last year. He looked good versus Utah St. He has help. Like some sweet WR (by sweet I mean very fast and good at catching the ball, which is important for being a WR).
And we have Asiata, which sounds a lot like Asado. So really, he's a winner in life for being awesome and having a great name. He lost 20 pounds (less asado?) and is mean and lean. Bold prediction: he has 1,500 yards this season and becomes a big national name. Just you wait.

We can do it again. We really have a talented team. Seriously. They really are good (Hear that Dad?). Plus we have this guy:
So unnamed, unborn child. I welcome you into the world full of great Utah football. Let's all enjoy, including you unborn son, this video with great rap music that details the top 10 Utes of this, our repeat season of being super cool.
Let's win another for Speedy. It's our first without him. Let's go Utes!
