Sea World

In July we spent the day down at Sea World with the Jarvis family. Luckily it wasn't too hot of a day and I wasn't too pregnant at that point. It was a really fun day. I love Sea World. I am always amazed at the things they can teach the animals to do. One day I want to go swimming with the dolphins or whales. That would be so much fun.

Shamu was there to greet us at the entrance. (Shamu is the one in the black and white, not the pink!)

We first went to the Sea lions show.

My favorite part of the sea lions show is the little otter.

Andrew's favorite part is the fat walrus.

Here is a video I made of the Sea Lion show. When I was in Utah my nephew Seth loved to watch this video:

We walked past the pink flamingos.

Notice in this picture how Andrew is carrying my purse for me. He is always willing to do that, isn't he sweet?

They had some fun turtles to look at.

Then we wen to the Shamu show. I love the killer whales. Again, I am always so impressed with what they can teach them.

Here we all are making the Shamu sign, except Andrew who refused to participate.

It's always hard to get a good picture. You have to guess when they are going to jump out of the water.

The whole show there was this annoying bird that kept hanging out trying to eat the fish they had out for the whales. You can see him standing in front of the blue box. We wanted one of the whales to eat him, but they didn't.

The Shamu video is down at the bottom of the post.

While waiting for the dolphin show to start, Andrew snacked on his shamu pretzel.

I was proud of this picture that I got right when the dolphin touched the flag.

We saw these really colorful birds.

This big walrus was fun to watch. He is so huge but can still move very gracefully.

I love the beluga whales. I think it's so interesting to see the all white whales.

Here is the video of the Dolphin show. I don't know how it got here, but I don't feel like moving it right now.

The penguin exhibit was very cool, but you can't really get a very good picture.

Andrew's cousin Jason came and met us there. All the men wore blue shirts (to support BYU I think!)

Andrew's favorite part: The big pickles!

Andrew also loves the sharks.

Here is a video of the Puffins. I had never seeen them before. They are sea birds who swim and fly really well. They were interesting.

And this was a snoring penguin that was funny to watch.

Here is a video of the Shamu show. (I don't know how to move it to where I want it on the post). They have a cheesy "Believe" theme to the show, so I think I found the most appropriate music for this video.

(Don't mind the guys annoying hat that is totally in the way)

We had a great time, thank you Jarvis family, and thank you Sea World!

Yes. The blue shirts were worn in solidarity with BYU. Andrew sent the memo out that induced the occasion.

that was some pretty sweet video editing, Diane! (or andrew) I liked how you timed it for the music to rev up right as Shamu jumped. NICE! It did not go unappreciated. And was way less confusing than those rotating projection screens in the background, what was that??

Hah-- and you got video footage of that greedy bird, too. Nice!

p.s. that fat walrus looked naked. Gross.
