A Santa Barbara 4th of July weekend

Over the 4th of July weekend I had to go up to Santa Barbara for a weekend swim meet. We decided to have Andrew come up and hang out up there so we could at least spend a little time together. It was a long and exhausting weekend, but it was fun.

I spent most of my time at the swim meet. I was there for probably about 10 - 12 hours a day. I realized that I get worn out a lot quicker now that I am pregnant. Luckily it wasn't TOO hot there and the nice thing about Santa Barbara is that there is always a slight ocean breeze to cool you off.

The other coaches didn't want me to stand out too much, so they tried to relate.

Andrew had a lot of fun finding things to do during the day while I was at the meet. On Saturday he found a 15K (approximately 9.5 miles) race that he was very excited to participate in. He did very well and finished in a time of 1:12.48. I am so proud of him!
Andrew spent a lot of time relaxing at the beach, walking through Santa Barbara, and renting a bicycle that he rode up and down the beach.

We weren't able to see any fireworks because by the end of the day I was too exhausted to wait around that night, but it still ended up being a fun 4th of July weekend. Santa Barbara is a cute little town and I would love to go back up there when I'm not working all day long!

That sounded like a fun weekend, except for those long hours you worked!! I loved that pic of the other coaches and their stomaches. :) And the artistic shot of your clipboard.

Santa Barbara is nice with great weather year-round. Jenna and I went there on our senior trip, so I have many fond and crazy memories of the place. Did Andrew ride around on one of those green rental bikes with benches? I can just see it now. I have no idea how you're still working like you are, standing for hours in the sun. At least the weather is cooling off for this week.
