Christmas Eve Fun!

Usually we trade off each each year which family we spend Christmas Eve/Morning with. But this year because of everyone's Sunday Church schedules it worked out best to be with the Jarvises again. So on Christmas Eve we participated in a few different Jarvis family traditions. We first had a dinner of "smelly sandwiches," or grilled pastrami and sauerkraut on rye bread. (Gavin and I shared a grilled cheese.)

We then painted sugar cookies. I wasn't sure how much Gavin would like this, but he ended up really enjoying it! We had a few brown cookies with all of the colors mixed together, but they still tasted great!

After decorating cookies we had yummy chocolate fondue for dessert.

Gavin and Margaret then opened up their one gift on Christmas Eve ... new pajamas!!

Gavin was very excited about his baseball pajamas!

Just before bed we tried out the cookies and wrote our letters to Santa. Gavin then went to bed, anxious for Santa to come!

We all then watched Rick Steve's "European Christmas" and played an intense game of "Ticket to Ride."

The perfect Christmas Eve!!

Yeah, good call on skipping the smelly sandwiches. :)

Is that Rick Steve thing a movie? Or a show on the Travel Channel?
