Getting ready for baby

We have been busy getting ready for this baby girl! I feel like we have made a lot of progress over the last week or two! Which is a good thing because my doctor said this baby could come at any time!!

We went to the doctor this morning and he did an ultrasound and everything looks great! She (yes, it's still a girl!) is measuring on schedule for 3 weeks! So I guess my due date is moved back to the original date! I'm not sure how excited I am about suddenly losing an entire week, but oh well! He said that my body is acting like it is "trying to get her out" but that her head is actually still pretty high. So he said that it is anyone's guess as to when she will come, but that we should be prepared for anytime. He estimated that she currently weighs 6 lbs. 9 oz.  Gavin was only 6 lbs. 12 oz.when he was born so it seems like she will be a bigger baby than he was. He also commented that she has really long legs, which I feel kicking me everyday.

There were some sewing projects I wanted to get done so I have been busy and am happy with how much I have done!!

We are going to have the baby and Gavin share a room so I needed to have the new decor go along with what Gavin already had (orange and brown). I have had fun finding lots of pink and orange things! My friend had this fabric that was perfect and so I have been trying to find it for months. Luckily I found it and I made a sheet for the crib. I think it turned out great!!

We will have her sleep in the pack n play for the first few weeks at least. I decided a new pink flannel sheet would look great in there. I also decided a new mobile would be fun. It came with a teddy bear mobile that I didn't love. So I used the same pink flannel fabric and made a cute star mobile. Now she will have something fun to look up at.

I have seen these car seat canopies all over the place and really wanted one. The carseat is brown with a little bit of green accent, so I thought that a pink and green fabric would look great. I am still going to add a binding around the blanket, but it's at least usable at this point.

I also made a couple things for me. When my mother in law was here a few weeks ago she helped me make a maxi skirt.  It is the one that I was wearing in the picture I posted a couple of weeks ago. It is so incredibly comfortable that I have literally been wearing it every single day!!

I decided I should probably make another one so I can at least rotate between the two skirts. I just finished it today and although it is not perfect, it will definitely get the job done.

And even though it has nothing to do with baby, I made this heart garland to go over our fireplace. It was fun and super easy!

We will continue to check things off our list as we keep getting ready. We have been setting up baby stuff and I am afraid that Gavin is already tired of hearing "no, that's for the baby" as he tries to climb in the swing, sit in the car seat, lay down in the bassinet and jump in to the pack n play.  I still think he has absolutely no idea what is coming! But we know that he is going to be a sweet older brother (as long as he doesn't beat her with a baseball bat).

Now we just need to pick out a name!!

You have got to send me the pattern to that maxi skirt! It's too cute. We have a name picked out finally! Good luck, it wasn't easy. Can't wait to see pictures of your baby girl.
