Avery's Adventures: Week Two

Week 2 with Avery was a lot like the first week! She still slept most of the time, which was nice, except for when I was trying to feed her!

On Friday we had her newborn pictures taken. I will do a separate post about them, but here are some that I took with my camera afterwards.

Annette knitted this little cocoon sac for me. I love how it turned out. My friend Erika knitted her cute headband.

My mom was still here the whole week. It was just so nice to have her here to help out and to keep me company as I sat around the house all day long.

Saturday morning we took Avery out for her first outing. We went to the farmers market that they have every week at the high school. She hung out in the stroller the whole time. It was nice to get out and get around though.

Monday was President's Day. My mom and I got away for a couple of hours and went shopping. The mall was really crowded but it was still fun to get out.

While in the hospital, Avery failed one side of her hearing test. So we went back this week to have her retested. It was a little weird to be back at the hospital. We weren't too worried about her hearing because it is pretty common for them to not pass at first. But of course I was a little bit worried. She passed though, and everything looks great!

Thursday we took her in for her 2 week appointment. She was doing great and obviously eating plenty! She now weighed 9 lbs. exactly. That put her in the 73%. It seems like she is going to be like her big brother and just keep packing on the pounds! It's nice to have a chunky baby though, you don't have to worry about whether they are eating enough!

Thursday afternoon my dad was supposed to come in to town. He had left the day before and was driving in from Utah. When he knocked on the door I was super surprised to see my sister there with him! She had decided at the last minute to come out with my dad! I was so excited to have them both here to see Avery!  That night Andrew stayed home with the kids so we could all go to my parent's favorite place to eat here, BJ's. It was delicious!

So besides a few outings during week 2, we spent most of the time doing a lot of this ...

... and Avery continued to do a lot of sleeping.

Sounds like things are going well. I'm glad she's such a good eater! Those newborn pics are so cute! Can't wait to see more.

Those cocoon pics are sooo sweet.

That's so nice she gained weight so fast! What a relief to know you're making enough milk, she's eating enough, etc.

I want those gray striped pants with the ruffle bum. Where did you get them?
