Happy Easter 2010!

We had a very Happy Easter this year. It was also Conference weekend which was nice. I was actually disappointed at first because then you don't get to wear your new "Easter dress" to Church that day, but I have to admit that I enjoyed staying in my PJ's all day long and not going anywhere.

The day started out with delicious strawberry waffles, made by Andrew. It has always been my family tradition to have strawberry waffles on Conference Sunday. They were delicious!

We then had a visit from the cutest little Easter Bunny!
I had picked up these ears from the dollar section at Target a few weeks ago and I am so glad that I did. I think he made the perfect little bunny. Andrew was upset that I got "girl bunny ears," but I don't care, I think he is adorable.
We then gave Gavin his Easter basket. I tried to get a picture of him sitting next to it, but this is the closest that I got. He would instantly try to grab it and knock it over. I kept picking it up and putting it back next to him and try to quickly take a picture. But each time we had the same result:
He would grab at the basket and it would tip over ...
He would grab some of the stuff inside ...
and then look to see if there is anything else inside.

He loved the pez dispenser, even though we didn't put any candy in it.
We tried to get him to chase after some eggs, but he wouldn't go for it.
And he was definitely not going to crawl towards the duck.
We then had a delicious Easter dinner. I wanted to make all of our traditional Easter favorite dishes, but I thought I would change them a little bit to make them a little bit healthier. I think they all turned out pretty good. We had grilled pork loin, sauteed zucchini, potato casserole, rolls, deviled eggs and strawberry lemonade.
Ben and Katherine had come up to eat dinner with us and to also celebrate Ben's birthday from a few days earlier. I made a special Easter Cake.

Happy Birthday Ben!
Here are a few videos of Gavin with his Easter Basket. Please ignore the flashes from me taking pictures at the same time.

He is so adorable. I absolutely LOVE the bunny ears. You can tell Andrew that there are plenty of male white bunnies. The ears are therefore androgynous and also completely cute. I'm sad I missed your easter dinner. It looks so good! Especially that delicious and colorful cake! Hope we get to see you guys again soon.

JJ loved watching the videos of Gavin. He thought it was hilarious when Andrew called Gavin a peanut--he laughed and laughed every time. Looks like you had a fantastic Easter!
