Anyway, I have tried to do one short post at least every other day and then I am also going to try to do weekly detailed updates. If you are just here for the short updates with pictures, then go ahead and skip these ones, I won't be offended.
This past week was a good one. It seemed really busy because we had something going on every night. On Monday night Ben and Katherine came over to watch the Jazz game. It was fun to see them and it was made even better by the fact that the Jazz won. Tuesday night Andrew had his board meeting at Ten Thousand Villages. The store is doing really well now that they have moved locations. Wednesday night was a fun Young Womens Activity. It was part 2 of an activity that one of the girls was in charge of. We did a modest fashion show. The girls learned how to put on makeup, learned a few modeling/walking techniques and then they put on a fashion show for the leaders. I think the girls had a lot of fun with the activity, so that was good. I really like being in Young Womens. It takes up a lot of time, but it is worth it. This whole week was really rainy, which wasn't a lot of fun. I don't necessarily mind the rain, but it definitely makes coaching outside not fun. If there isn't lightning, then we will still have practice. So I have to stand out in the rain, which honestly is not fun. It also makes it difficult with Gavin because the lady who watches him usually takes him to the park and sits out on the grass with him. It is also difficult because then I can't take Gavin outside during the day. I try to find indoor things to do with him. We spent one afternoon walking around Whole Foods looking at all the yummy food. He is getting so big and he kind of fits in the shopping cart. I think he looks so cute sitting in there. He held on to the side of the cart the entire time at the store. I guess he didn't feel very secure.

We survived the rainy days though and now it has warmed up and is in the mid 70's again, which is always nice. Now Gavin and I spend a lot of time outside sitting on the grass. He loves to just sit outside and watch cars drive by. He also discovered how cool grass is.
Friday night we took Gavin and went to Johnny Rockets for dinner. He did okay, but became pretty bored quickly. I think every time we take him out to eat I tell myself that we are never going to take him with us again. But then I get tired of not being able to go out all together and I give in and do it again (only to tell myself the same thing). Which was definitely true this weekend because the next morning, we went to breakfast. I have had a lot of swim meets lately on Saturday mornings so when I had a Saturday with no swim meet and I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep in anyway, I wanted to go out for breakfast. I have heard a lot about this great place for breakfast, Dish, so we went there. It was really good. They had a lot of choices and I want to go back to try more. Here is Gavin sitting in his highchair at Dish.
The rest of the day we were busy getting stuff done around the apartment and running errands. It was nice to have a day off from swim team to get stuff done. I finished painting a bookshelf that I had been working on. I think it turned out pretty good.
Here is the after picture. This is the first painting project that I have ever done. So I think it turned out pretty well. I still need to touch up the shelves before I put them in, but you get the idea. I like the nice clean white look.
Sunday started out as a difficult day for Gavin. He was really fussy and whiny, which isn't like him these days. We figured that he is probably having pain from his top two teeth that are coming in. We were reluctant to take him to Church but decided we would try and I would bring him home if I needed to. He ended up doing really well and was happy the whole time. Usually Andrew takes Gavin the whole time during Church (except when I am feeding him) so that I can go to Young Womens and he isn't a distraction. But Andrew teaches Elders Quorum once a month and this Sunday was his day. So I took him with me and I think he did pretty well. Sunday night we went over to Dave and Brittany's for a BBQ. They grilled salmon, steak and chicken. I actually really liked the salmon. We brought the pack n play, hoping that Gavin would go to sleep there so we could stay a little later than 7:00. We put him down and he talked to himself for a little while and then he fell asleep! It was awesome. So we stayed and played a few rounds of pinochle. It was great to be able to stay out but to also have Gavin asleep so we weren't keeping him up late.

I thought that the natural wood color was just a little too boring.

I love this picture of me and Gavin just hanging out in the chair.

Good job on blogging more. I have noticed and I'm happy about it.
Where did Ten Thousand Villages move to? They aren't on Lake anymore? Do you still volunteer there?
The painted shelf looks a lot better. Nice job!
It sounds like a busy but fun week. Lots of social events!
I forget that your hair is dark now, so I was so surprised by that last pic. I think of you as a blonde still!
Don't send the rain our way!!! Love the shelf:)
Your hair is definitely getting longer if you can pull it back like that? Do you guys have YW meetings during Sunday School? That's so nice that Andrew takes Gavin most of church. What do you mean Andrew's board meeting at Ten Thousand Villages? I am confused. Is he on their board? Do they rent out a conference room? Why would Andrew have a board meeting? Also, I LOVE that BYU hat. It looks so cute on Gavin. What if he decides to go to beauty school instead? I'm sure Andrew would blame the bunny ears. Last but not least, awesome Easter/birthday cake for Ben, very impressive!
