On May 13th, Andrew blessed Avery. It was a very special day for all of us. We were so grateful to have most of our family there to celebrate with us. It was also Mother's Day, so I think that made it doubly special for me. It also made it so we were able to see our moms, so that was great!
Annette had offered to make a blessing outfit for Avery. I told her that I wanted a simple beautiful white dress and a pale pink knitted cardigan. I absolutely love what she did. The dress is so incredibly beautiful. She hand embroidered the flowers on the dress and added the most delicate lace in to it. The little pink and white cardigan is so sweet. She also knit the cute headband. I love it all so much!
I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to take pictures in the Chapel, but my dad took this one before the meeting started.
The blessing was very beautiful and Andrew did a great job. Avery was calm and peaceful throughout the whole thing. She just stared up at Andrew. She must have known it was important.
After Sacrament Meeting we took some pictures outside.
Annette also knit this vest for Gavin. Love it.
The Johnson Family.
The whole group!
The Jarvis Family.
Our cute little family.
We are so blessed with such a sweet baby girl. One of the things that Andrew said was that we can already see her determined personality. That is so true. She is going to be a handful!! But we are so grateful that she came in to our family.
I wanted to make a blanket for Avery for the blessing. It is a white satin with the softest pink minkee on the back, with the pink satin ruffles. It turned out pretty good for my first time making something like this!
Annette wanted a picture with her kids. She said it had been awhile since she had 4 of her kids with her on Mother's Day.
This is all of the men that were in the blessing circle: Dave Eckersley, Grandpa Johnson, Kevin, Greg, Andrew, Josh, Jeremy Heiner and Grandpa Jarvis. Avery is so lucky to have such wonderful men to look up to and that care about her.
We had a little BBQ at our house after the blessing. We grilled some hamburgers and hot dogs and had pasta salad, watermelon, veggies, baked beans, chips and dips.
We also had Violet's cupcakes and ice cream for dessert!! Yum!
Some people ate.
Grandma's held babies.
And cousins hung out!
Gavin taught everyone how fun it is to play in the dirt.
This is why he has to take a bath every single day.
The grandkids all sang to grandma for Mother's Day. It was very sweet.
Thank you to all of our family that made the trip out here for the blessing. We were so grateful to have everyone here. We seriously have the best family, ever!

Man, I need an Annette in my life. Where can I get one?
You can't have her. She's already taken.
Wow, that blessing outfit is so, so beautiful. I can't believe that dress is homemade!! With the strips of lace and the flowers... Wow. I totally adore her whole outfit. And her, of course. You got some of the cutest pics!
