The 4th of July is my favorite holiday! Love everything about it!! The last 6 years we have spent most of our 4th of July's in Santa Barbara with swim team. This year, since it was earlier in the week, we were able to be home!!
We met up with our friends the Petersens, Munsons and Riches for a yummy breakfast. We then went to the Sierra Madre parade.
Here we are all walking down the road trying to find a place to sit. I love seeing everyone in their red, white and blue!
I decided to make Avery a matching headband for the holiday. She wasn't too happy in this picture.
All the little ones lined up on the sidewalk waiting for the parade.
It is impossible to try and get a good picture of these two kids.
Our cute family at the parade.
The jeeps made me think of my dad who was driving his jeep in the Provo parade that morning!
This is the float that the city of Sierra Madre will have in the Rose Parade next year. It's interesting to see what it looks like without all of the roses!
This is what I love about small town parades ...
Gavin was not so much interested in the parade as he was in these fun toys that Coulson brought.
Again ... small town parades ...
The only time that Gavin paid attention was when the big tractors drove by.
Avery enjoyed the parade!
After the parade we went home and packed up our stuff and headed down to meet the Jarvis family in Laguna. I tried to get some good pictures of all of us in our 4th of July patriotic colors!
Did I mention that it is impossible to get a good picture of the two kids together?
The best family picture we could get.
And another attempt outside. (Not too shabby of a view, huh?!)
We spent some time at the beach house just relaxing. We then went to dinner at Ruby's Diner. We were going to walk down to the beach to watch the fireworks, but we never made it. I think we were all completely worn out and so we just hung out at the house and went to bed. I guess that's what happens when you have kids!!
Happy Independence Day!!
