The day after Andrew's birthday was Father's Day, so he got two special days right in a row!!
We have early church so Andrew got cinnamon rolls from one of those tube things for breakfast. I know I should have woken up early and made him a really delicious breakfast, but I didn't. After church it was time to open up presents! Andrew got a lot of fun things for him to do with Gavin! He had said that he wanted a bubble gun that blew bubbles so he didn't have to work so hard! So he got lots of fun bubble making things.
He also got a new Giants hat. Andrew had one that he absolutely loved and he lost it a year or so ago. I have been looking for one exactly like it, but haven't been able to find one. This is the closest that I could find.
Gavin loves Andrew's baseball hats, so I decided to get him a matching one. They didn't have a matching one of the new one I got for Andrew, so I got a matching hat like one Andrew already has.
A funny story is that a couple days before Andrew's birthday and Father's Day I took Gavin in to our office and showed him Andrew's presents. He was very excited. But then later that night he was telling Andrew that he needed to get his new hat and his new car. Andrew was confused and kept trying to give him stuff he already had. I just played along and said I didn't know what Gavin wanted!
Matching hat like Daddy's!
I tried to get a good photo of Andrew with the kids, but it is impossible to get one where both of the kids are holding still and not blurry. This is the best we could get.
Andrew wanted chile lime chicken soup for dinner. After dinner we went to a missionary fireside that one of the Elders we had worked with for awhile invited us to because he is leaving. It was fun to see him and hear his testimony before he went home to Texas.
I think Andrew had a great Father's Day. Andrew is such an incredible father. Gavin loves him so much! There is no question who he prefers between Andrew and me. Andrew has to be the one to put him to bed, to read books to him, to play with him, to comfort him in the middle of the night, to do everything with him! If Andrew is gone then Gavin gets very upset if I try to do something for him. He will say "No mommy. You go away. I want Daddy." It kind of breaks my heart a little bit, but it also makes me so happy that Gavin is so close to Andrew. He is such a great example to Gavin. You can also tell that Avery is already enamored with Andrew as well. Her face lights up whenever she sees him! He is always willing to play with the kids and to take care of whatever they need. He teaches them many things. Gavin now says "Go Giants!" all of the time. I am sure that Andrew will make sure that he will always be a Giants, Jazz and Utah fan. Although I will make sure that he has a love for BYU as well. (Luckily we have more family members on the BYU side!) Andrew has taught Gavin how to tackle, squish, and hide from people. He loves to play monsters, sharks and baseball with Andrew too.
My favorite quote from President David O. McKay is "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother." And Andrew definitely does this. He is so good to me. I don't like to admit it, but most mornings I sleep in until 9 or 10! After I feed Avery in the morning Andrew will take both of the kids and let me sleep. He also lets me go out with friends or do other things and never complains about watching the kids for me. He hasn't questioned my desire to continue working, even though it leaves him with the kids each day and many weekends. He knows that I want to work and supports me in continuing with it. He really is such an incredible husband and father!!
We were also able to talk to both of our Dads. We are so grateful for our Dads and all that they do.
Happy Father's Day!!

I love that lots of Andrew's bday and father's day gifts are things for him to do with Gavin. So funny.
Those matching hat pics are so cute!
That was so sweet all the stuff about Andrew at the end. He's such a great guy. I'm glad you have him, and I'm super jealous you sleep in until 9 or 10 every day!!! What??!! Cora has been waking up at 5:30am lately...
