Friday was our last day at Disneyland. My family was staying one more day, but we were going home so we could hang out with the Jarvis family on Saturday. We were ready for another full day at Disneyland, but then Gavin woke up with a fever. He was not feeling well and didn't really want to get up or do anything. We decided to let him kind of relax while we gave him some medicine. We started packing up our room and moving all of our stuff in to my parents room. Gavin just hung out and watched tv. After an hour or so when the medicine started kicking in he was perking up and started acting a lot happier. We decided to go out and see how he did.
We first stopped in Downtown Disney. We had bribed Gavin during family pictures the day before. We told him that we would buy him one of those remote control cars that he loved the first day we were there. But when we got to the store he decided he wanted the little Monsters Inc. figurines. While we continued to shop, Gavin fell asleep in the stroller.
My parents wanted to get a group family picture at Disneyland. They wanted matching shirts, so we had to find something that we could all wear. We spent a lot of time going from store to store trying to find similar shirts in all the different sizes. Gavin slept the whole time we went to a store at Downtown Disney, then inside the park, and then back out to Downtown Disney. He woke up as we were heading over to lunch. He wasn't feeling well again. We gave him some more medicine and hoped that he would feel better again.
I took this picture of Gavin after he woke up from his nap. He had his little monsters figurines but didn't want to do anything with him. You can tell that he was feeling absolutely miserable. I felt so bad for him. Poor little guy.
Avery modeling the pink mickey shirts that the girls all wore.
We met up with my family to take the picture, but then realized that we wouldn't have enough time. Kaylee and Rachel had lunch reservations for the princess lunch at Ariels Grotto.
While we waited for them to eat their lunch, we went and got our own food.
Luke is only about 3 1/2 months older than Avery. Cute little cousins together.
Luke is the happiest little guy. So cute!
After lunch we went back to Disneyland to get pictures. Unfortunately when we got there the parade was about to start, so we couldn't take any pictures. Gavin had fallen asleep again, so it was a good time to let him sleep anyway. Avery and I waited patiently for the parade.
After the parade we quickly took a couple pictures on Main Street. Neither Gavin or Avery were very happy to get these pictures.
We then went up to the front of Disneyland to get a couple more pictures. They turned out pretty good.
Gavin was definitely done with pictures.
After pictures we headed back to the hotel. We stopped at Downtown Disney first. Andrew wanted to take Gavin to the Lego store. The medicine must have started to kick in again because he was acting happy and more like himself. We stopped at the bakery and stocked up on all of our favorite Disneyland treats!! I discovered the most amazing peanut butter and chocolate chunk cookies. YUM!! By the time we got back to the hotel my family had all gone down to the pool to go swimming. We were going to just go down and hang out for a little bit, but when Gavin saw the pool all he wanted to do was go swimming. He seemed to be feeling better so we decided to let him get in.
The main pool was freezing cold, but they had a little mini kids pool. Gavin had a lot of fun splashing around and playing in the water. They also had a hot tub that we spent the last part of the time in. Gavin started feeling a little crummy again and he didn't want to get out. I guess the warm water felt really good to him.
Grandma had a little time to love on Avery.
This video is when we first got in the big pool, which was really cold!
After swimming in the pool we packed up our stuff and headed home. Gavin had a hard time leaving, but fell asleep pretty quickly in the car. It was definitely a rough day for him, but he held in there. I feel bad that he got sick on our last day at Disneyland, but we made it work. We had such a great week with my family. It was so fun to be with them and for my kids to spend time with their extended family.
